Pandan Kaya Swiss Roll

On top of the pandan layer cendol kueh, I also made pandan kaya swiss roll for my charity bake yesterday:

Recipe goes this way:

180g phoon huat sponge mix
3 eggs
40g melted butter
40g water
1tsp pandan paste
NTUC Nonya Kaya

Beat sponge mix, water, pandan paste and eggs till fluffy. Add in melted butter and pour mixture into a 10 X 14 swiss roll pan. Bake for 10 mins.

Remove the outer skin of the roll and spread kaya on it and roll up. Cool and then cut.

I tried your recipe but the cake turned out too hard to be rolled.

Do i need to beat the egg white first before adding yolk?

Does melted butter mean liquid form or just softened butter?
